Protect data loggers to avoid people create or modify some configurations

I have a question related to the Advanced Serial Data Logger's user interface. Would it be possible to protect some options on the menu? Some days ago, on a PC with your software, I saw two "COM 1" configurations. When exists two configurations that use the same com port, that only port is closed, and it's not possible to read some data? I would like to protect your software to avoid people creating or modifying some configurations. Is it possible?
